Introducing our 2024 Impact Report!

Did you know that Brigad was built out of a passion for hospitality? Before Brigad, our founders saw first-hand the challenges of working in hospitality, but also experienced for themselves how passionate those in industry are.

But, due to Brexit, COVID-19 and more recent immigration and minimum wage laws, the hospitality industry has been having a hard go of it. Labour supply and demand within the industry remains precariously imbalanced with more than 112,000 vacancies in hotels, cafés, pubs, and restaurants across the UK at the end of 2023.

🎯
Key Numbers
  • 112,000 vacancies in the hospitality industry at the end of 2023
Thats 23,000 more than the pre-pandemic figure of 89,000
  • 5,000 talents registered on Brigad in the UK
  • 2,000 businesses use Brigad to find support
  • On average, missions proposals on Brigad are accepted by a talent in less than 2 hours
  • Talents receive an average of 86 mission proposals a month on Brigad
  • The average length of a mission on Brigad is 1.52 days

At a time when the industry is experiencing immense pressure and complex challenges, we want to do our best to support the millions of businesses and professionals who show up each day and serve us with their best.

These are not just words. In fact, Brigad is a mission-driven company who has defined six commitments in order to make work attractive and accessible for all. We review these goals and the KPIs that have been set annually, to make sure that we’re on track to achieving them.

Our 6 Commitments are:

  1. Increase the amount of opportunities available on our platform
  2. Prioritise fair and favourable wages
  3. Protect against fraud and illegal work
  4. Encourage equal opportunities
  5. Develop easy-to-use tech
  6. Improve working conditions

We are pleased to share the result of our efforts in the past year in our 2024 Impact Report! Read the report to find out more now.
